End of Phoenix, Birth of Firestorm

On the official Firestorm / Phoenix download website, there is an interesting point to be taken note of :

Phoenix does not run on Windows 8, the use of this setup is not supported. Please use Firestorm with Windows 8.

So it seems that this will mark the end of Phoenix as more and more of the PC / Laptop will be rolling out with Windows 8. In addition, Phoenix has major issue with MESH and obviously does not support pathfinding so I suppose there is a good reason to upgrade now. 

There is some getting used to, but some of the things you will never want to give up after upgrading including the build in area radar and AO controls.

Bring your slave to shopping?

I saw a rather strange and funny event and decided to take a photo of it. I met this couple with the guy leashing the woman. I suppose that is similar to the master / slave concept and the lady is carrying all the shopping stuffs. It is just so funny that I decided to look again and again. I hope they do not find me perving :)

There had been terrible outage affecting purchase, rezzing of items as well as logins etc over the last 48 hours or so. I had a brief chance to go back and revisit my older games such as Battlefield 3 and Darksider 2 thanks to that. But my treasure huntings are greatly affected and not to mentioned if you had missed your IKON weekend or 60L weekend... Well, its time to cry over the spilled milk.

But I am glad everything is slowly falling back into pieces and it is not my problem with routers or network!

I chance upon a rather familiar shop in SL and it turns out to be a fast food restaurant call MacLinden. It is just really interesting and I decided to take a look at it.

Bitter Bunnie Designs Annual Trick-Or-Treat Hunt! 2012

This is one difficult hunt and strong not recommended if you want to quickly complete a hunt. Anyway, Today is the LAST day. Grab it while its still there!

There are quite a lot of candles to be found and they are tiny. A total of 21, instead of 23 as indicated by some websites. Most of the candies are pretty well hidden and they are named as "object". The obvious ones are all decoys.

Let's take a look at some of the spoils:

There are a total of 2 bear suits, one orange and the other turquoise with matching T-shirts. 

There is also a cute panda shoes and a sailor uniform. "Aye Aye Captain!"

And some nice halloween outfit, although you will probably have to keep until next year to use it.

And not to mention a set of nice laced elegance lingerie with multi-color options.

The Autumn Hunt

Completed this paid hunts which cost $5L for each prizes totaling about 26x$5L = $130L. It isn't much but I am sure the prizes are great. But be warned, I did encountered about 3 or so shops which doesn't carry the poster or the prizes.

Negative Linden Scam

Recently, there seems to be a flood of a similar looking scam all around most of the popular groups. You will see a similar message like this:

[04:54] Kamiliuke1212: Hey guys I have a problem in my linden balance I have -12 lindens, And I can't take 
any freebies, they all cost 12L can some give me 12L please? :( I don't mean to be rude, I aplogise

Even the bad spelling is sometimes replicated. I figures the scammer doesn't klnow English too well.

So, how does this works? Nobody will give her 12L. Or would they? Well, we just need a few. In a group with 100s of users, if only 10 people feel sympathy and gave her 12L, she will have 120L. Repeat that over all the groups and she gets 1000s in a few seconds. Easy money?

As group owners, we can ban these people, but they will just come back with another alt faster than you can say "Arnold Schwarzenegger". My advice is for everyone to please ignore people like this and they will know their tricks no longer works soon enough.
